iPod Nano Scratches Lead to Law Suit

by @ 7:40 am. Filed under Apple/Macintosh, News

Apple’s iPod Nano has been facing some problems due to the great number of scratches which surfaced only a few weeks after the initial launch of the tiny player. The mixture of sleek design and functionality hasn’t struck gold this time and Apple is now facing a class action suit on behalf of those who have purchased the iPod Nano.

Instead of being praised for another great innovation for the digital entertainment industry, Apple will have to deal now with charges of violating state consumer protection statutes and implied warranties. It is said that Apple was aware of the design problems with the Nano and decided to launch it nevertheless.

Apple representatives refused to comment on these charges, but they did acknowledge that the material used to produce the chasis of the Nano is the same polycarbonate material found in other iPod models. They have also said that the excessive scratching issue isn’t widespread and it only refers to a few isolated mishaps.
